South Carolina Camp Grounds
There are several SC campgrounds that are closeby to the NC communities of Highlands, Cashiers, Sapphire, and Lake Toxaway. Many of the SC campgrounds are located off the scenic Hwy 11 known as the Cherokee Foothills National Scenic Highway. If you have hiked off the bottom of the wooden stairs of Whitewater Falls in NC, this trail joins up with the well known Foothills Trail in SC.

Devils Fork State Park
The only public access to Lake Jocassee, a 7500 acre reservoir. Known for its boating Duke Power provides a chart of the daily lake levels. Day-use boat ramps will be closed from November 16th through January 31st for the annual trout stocking of Lake Jocassee. During this time no one will be allowed to fish from these area as well. Please observe these dates as visitor traffic will not be allowed.
